Therapeutic Approach

An Individualised Path Toward Greater Wellbeing

Every client’s experience is unique, so sessions are collaborative, confidential, and responsive to individual needs, aiming to develop personal insight and foster resilience.

My experience and training taught me to integrate elements from a combination of different theories and methods, in order to more effectively help clients through their difficulties.  This includes Attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused therapy (CFT), Person-Centred (PCT) and Schema therapies and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Experience and Qualifications

Professional Support Informed by Extensive Clinical Experience

I am a registered BACP therapist (MBACP), with an MSc in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy (Distinction) from Derby University.  My background includes delivering mental health clinics for GP-referred patients, working with trauma survivors via local charities and working as an NHS mental health nurse.  My time as a school sixth form counsellor and within Derby University Counselling Service has helped inform my academic research, which focused on adolescent mental health and family systems.

A Space to Be Heard and Understood

Clients are invited to express concerns in a safe, non-judgmental environment.  I listen with care, supporting people in better understanding how their problems have developed, before enabling them to find ways to move forward in their lives. Therapy can address anxiety, depression, low confidence, loss, trauma, or simply the need for a confidential space to talk.  I offer an initial free 15-minute phone consultation to explore whether I can help you.

1:1 Therapy

My session with you comes from a person-centred approach, which essentially means that we work together to focus on your individual experiences and needs, you are at the helm alongside me as we work together.
